Demurrage Definition: A charge payable to the owner of a chartered vessel in respect of failure to load or discharge the vessel within the time agreed.

Modifying existing demurrage rules and rates: From the Cost Settings tab of the Carrier page, select "Update Demurrage"
Free Time at Terminal (Mins) - Period of time allowed At Terminal before demurrage begins accruing for each load
Demurrage Rate at Terminal ($/Hr) - Hourly rate of demurrage At Terminal, begins accruing after going past allotted free time
Free Time at Destination (Mins) - Period of time allowed At Terminal before demurrage begins accruing for each load
Demurrage Rate at Destination ($/Hr) - Hourly rate of demurrage At Destination, begins accruing after going past allotted free time
Demurrage Cap – Set limits for the maximum amount of demurrage that can be accrued by each load
Use Separate Cap for Terminal / Destination -
Individual maximums for both Terminal and Destination demurrage amounts, measured in minutes
Use an Overall cap regardless of Terminal / Destination -
One maximum amount of demurrage regardless of whether time is accrued at Terminal or Destination
Basic Demurrage Example:
Free Time at Terminal – 15 Minutes
Demurrage Rate at Terminal – $60/hr
Free Time at Destination – 15 Minutes
Demurrage Rate at Destination - $60/hr
Max Cap at Terminal – 60 Minutes
Max Cap at Destination – 60 Minutes
Driver Joe does a load and spends two hours At Terminal and two hours At Destination. Joe receives $60 demurrage from At Terminal and $60 demurrage from At Destination for a total of $120 demurrage for that load.
